Convert PNG to JPG
and shrink the file.
Turn PNG images into smaller JPG files for uploads, email and websites.
Aspect ratio is always kept. Upscaling enlarges smoothly and sharpens edges, but it can't add detail that isn't in the photo. ICO files are limited to 256 px. GIF uses 256 colors.
Why convert PNG to JPG?
PNG files are lossless and often large, especially for photos. JPG trades a little detail for much smaller files, which is why most websites and upload forms prefer it.
Common questions
What happens to transparent areas in a PNG?
JPG can't store transparency, so transparent areas are filled with a solid color. White is the default, and you can change it with the background option.
How small will my JPG be?
It depends on the image, but photos often shrink by more than half. Lowering the quality slider makes the file smaller still.
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything runs in your browser, so your files never reach a server.
